Ava May, the evil owner of the occult bookstore at 666 Newark Avenue in Hoboken, New Jersey, has tormented the residents of the surrounding area for many years. Her reach is believed to be vast, her means, supernaturala mysterious. So much so in fact, she has been itemized by an unsuspecting, ill-informed public as an aurban myth, a a book-hustling bogeyman invented by the new-age, hipster subcultures and bored superstitious yuppies. But for many, including three friends, Patti, Helen and Linda, the aurban mytha is frightfully real. Her unyielding, vast reach is now closing around their collective worlds, their very lives. The horror is more than a collection of imaginary encounters. The legends are rooted in fact. The myth is truth.
