Edward Newenham Hoare (1802-1877) was an author and Dean of Waterford. His works include: Letters on Subjects Connected with Ireland (1839), English Roots and the Derivation of Words From the Ancient Anglo-Saxon (1856), A Letter to the Honorary Secretaries of the Church Education Society (1860), Exotics; or, English Words Derived From Latin Roots (1863), A Child of the Glens; or, Elsie's Fortune (1875), Motherless Maggie: A Liverpool Tale (1876), Two Voyages and What Came of Them (1877) and Harvey Compton's Holiday (1878).
