Bounty-hunter Percy Clegg is intent on taking in Steve Westerley not only for the $10,000 due on him in distant Arkansas, but also because the outlaw killed the girl Clegg had hoped to marry. On the way south they are taken prisoner and brought to the ranch owned by the dying Rodriguez. It seems that whilst in the penitentiary, Westerley met Rodriguez's former partner and forced him to part with a map leading to an old mine containing silver bullion.
