This is a small volume of about 100 topics, each of around one to one and a half pages long. The selected topics are those with medico-legal implications of common concern to practising medical practitioners. The purpose is to raise awareness and to encourage a prudent attitude for safe medical practice. The format is that of a collection of short, precise, informal, discussion styled, thought-stimulating essays to suit the busy doctor who wants the most relevant and important answers to their queries quickly. By providing medical practitioners with the necessary legal knowledge they need in their daily practice, it is hoped that patients in general will also benefit from more cautious medical practice.

Dr. David S.Y. Wong is a consultant plastic surgeon at the Prince of Wales Hospital. He is also an honorary associate professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In recent years, he has also obtained the degrees of LLB (London), LLM (London), and the PCLL (HK).
