Buv. T. Dale. A Due consideration of the exemptions from evil which the departed in Jesus enjoy, should lead us to entire pious resignation on their account. But that is only the negative view of the question. The happy dead have positive blessings of the most exalted and glorious des- cription. At death they attain their majority, and enter as the sons and heirs of God, on the inheritance which God has prepared for them, in Christ Jesus. That inheritance is described under figures and representations the most delightful. Their possessions are in the better country -- the land of Beulah. It consists of a kingdom -- the glorious kingdom of God. It is the new Jerusalem -- the celestial Zion. It is a world of light, and purity, and blessedness. Glorious for situation -- far from all sin and suffering, illumined by the presence of God and the Lamb. It needs not either the sun or moon, or stars; for God is its light and glory. There is no night there, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor curse. But there are the perpetual streams of life flowing from the throne of God. There, the tree of life ever ...
