MINISTRY IN KIRKCALDY. ]] N the close of 1873 he received an invitation to supply the pulpit of the church, meeting in Whyte's Causeway, Kirkcaldy, which had been for some time without a pastor. His short visit there he seems to have heartily enjoyed. A warm, mutual attachment sprang up between him and a number of the people, which issued in his receiving and accepting a call to become their settled minister. His impressions of the people, and the feeling with which he preached to them, he has recorded in his journal. " December 27. -- On Christmas evening went to the Sunday-school soiree at Whyte's Causeway. It went off very well. Mr. M opened the meeting with prayer, and gave the first address. I closed the service with a few words of prayer. Last night went to another Christmas-tree soiree at Philp's school. Mr. C, the teacher, invited me, alongwith the H 's.
