Interspersed with these features on specific techniques are contemporary quilts that show how these methods have been used and evolved from their cultural roots, so for today's quilters there are no geographical constraints. For example, a German quilter might be inspired to incorporate a Japanese technique with a European design. At the back of the book is an International Gallery of Quilts, sourced from countries around the world. There is a brief introduction to basic quilting and patchwork techniques and tools, as well as a glossary and comprehensive resource section.
