RASA LIVING WELLNESS VOL. 1 has a two-fold purpose. Firstly, it is the soundtrack/incidental music used on Deepak Chopra's PBS special "The Happiness Prescription," which is based off his explorations of the Buddhist Eightfold Path and his "Ten Keys to Happiness." Secondly, it is a showcase for Rasa Music's softer side, featuring music that blends spirituality with the trendiness and sophistication their albums are known for. The tracks on the album all have a very slow, mellow sound, with lots of atmosphere and a strong meditative edge. Synthesizers are a predominant instrument, alongside light Asian touches in the way of flutes, wordless vocals and strings. Some light percussion comes into play in the later tracks, though much of the album has an ambient flair to it that is highly suitable for relaxation and healing rituals.
