Rivertribe's uniquely Australian relaxation-indigenous-soul-tribal music has seen them gain a reputation as one of Australia's premier world music acts, winning audiences wherever they perform. Matt Aitchison, Stu Fergie, David Gleeson and Mike Lane bring together instruments from around the world to produce a rich, multicultural sound that is beautiful, soulful and deeply reflective. The ancient textures of the didgeridoo blend with a soundscape of violins, Native American flutes, Irish whistle, African drums, piano, Armenian duduk and sounds of the Australian native forests.
Rivertribe were in Sydney during the 2000 Olympic Games, where they performed extensively to large international audiences. At their first international performance, the Singapore River Festival, RiverTribe performed alongside artists handpicked from around the globe.
In 2001 they toured Asia and USA/Canada. Rivertribe were extremely well received at the official launch of The Blessing at the National Gallery of Australia during NAIDOC week 2000. Other performances include the Awakening 2000 concert at Stadium Australia, the Asia-Pacific Political Forum, Sydney Opera House, Melbourne International Festival and United Nations Day of the Older Person.
As well as their shows, Rivertribe enjoy regular street performances. Rivertribe's much anticipated second CD The Blessing is following the enormous success of their first CD Journey, which has sold close to 15,000 copies since it's release in May 1999.
