About the Artist Mike Rowland is a British composer and artist who touches and inspires people all over the world with his relaxation music. His sensitivity and musical talent in combination with his involvement in his audience and nature results in unique piano compositions. Mike begins composing music as a young adult, having learned the piano as a boy. When he is a little older, he travels a lot and learns to listen; not so much to different types of music but to the sounds of nature. His musical career begins with a stroll through a forest in Stanstead, in the early eighties.
While he is walking, he suddenly hears, out of nowhere, beautiful almost unworldly music. This experience affects him profoundly. Back at home he plays the music he has heard in the forest and that still lingers in his head, on the piano and records it with a microphone and a simple cassette player. This results in his first album, The Fairy Ring, a new age classic that sold more than a million copies and is considered one of the most important releases in healing music to this date. More relaxation and healing albums follow, all highly successful. Mike Rowland teaches and develops spiritual intuition and sensitivity at colleges and healing centres in Britain and abroad. He is currently compiling a book about the healing effect of music.
