This book tells the story of Dai Morrisey, the author's
father, from the end of the First World War, when he was
four years old, through his childhood years to a young
adult leaving the mines and starting his own business
mending radios. This book gets darker at the end, when
Dai hears of a series of awful mining accidents that
convince him to leave the industry. This book ends with
one of its most successful images - Dai plays music to
the whole street to advertise his business and walks out
to see his parents dancing in the middle of the road - a
beautiful picture to end the story.
