Like biblical Job, the Swifts, Grant and Erma, were godly parents of seven children; however, unlike Job, they were very poor indeed. They were nicknamed the Job family because of the myriads of trials they encountered. Satan does not kill all the Swift children as he did Jobas, but he drives some to insanity, prison, drugs, attempted murder, and self-murder. One of the girls is even a pimp(ess) with two prostitutes. Though the parents regularly hold them up in prayer, they still refuse to make wholesome and right decisions regarding their lives. The Swift parents are in the crucible of Godas furnace, and though He is not the hand bearing the rod, He instigated the entire ordeal. Erma lives to see her children completely turned around and become pastors, CEOs, and a teacher, and she is glad she never gave up on them.
